Our History

In 1996 , the Convention Center Hotel Copa D’Or then , first AES Brazil held its National Convention . With the support of professionals and companies the three-day meeting was a success , which was repeated the following year . After a one year hiatus, AES Brazil reunited in its National Convention, this time in Sao Paulo. Since then, every year the Society organizes the event, which has grown in size and importance, having been incorporated to the schedule of national and international events of the technology industry and establishing itself as the national meeting point of professionals, students, researchers and industry. At first only for audio professionals, over the years lighting , rigging structures, video, digital signage have all joined the event, helping to make it a large gathering of converging technologies.

As of 2003, AES Brazil began organizing the Audio Congress, a forum presentation of peer reviewed academic papers by national and international researchers. Education, inovation and exchange of information have always been the main mission of the society and, over the years, numerous Institutes, Societies, Industries and Governments have given their support to these initiatives.

With the growth and new demands of the Convention, many sites have hosted AES Brazil over this period. The year 2009 was marked by the change to the Anhembi Convention Palace. It was in this year that the organizers added the Live Sound PA Systems Demos to the activities of the Convention, whereas the visitors could see the equipment performing in real world conditions. This also became a showcase for a Best Practices of how these complex and advanced systems should be correctly and safely deployed by professionals

Thus, with years of experience, support from industry and profession, AES Brazil Expo reaches its eighteenth edition in 2014, having established itself as the most important event for the dissemination of audiovisual technical knowledge.
